It was announced Wednesday there would be a ‘major’ concert coming to Progressive Field this summer.

The three names listed above are all schedule to be on stadium tours this coming summer, however, the presence of the Rock and Roll HOF in this equation could signal something else…
In country music, Brantley Gilbert is set to drop his knew album The Devil Don’t Sleep on January 27th, then Little Big Town drops The Breaker on February 24th, and Brad Paisley gives us Love and War on March 3rd. Perhaps a multiple headliner country concert? The genre has held a near monopoly on Cleveland stadium concerts in recent years.
It has been six years since Drake was scheduled to perform just outside of First Energy Stadium (then Cleveland Browns Stadium) before it was postponed due to weather. With the highly anticipated release of New Life scheduled for an early 2017 release, could hip hop fans finally get that outdoor show that was once promised? Could it be a collab with Diddy? Trey Songz? Both have albums TBD for 2017.
On the pop scene there are new albums on the way for Lorde, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilara.
BUT WAIT! What about U2? That would explain the connection with the Rock and Roll HOF. They have promised a ‘special tour’ this year for the 30th anniversary of “The Joshua Tree”. Could that special tour include a stop in the home last years World Series Game 7?
The countdown is on. An announcement will be made tomorrow.
